The Cancer Council Western Australia
The Cancer Council Western Australia is a non-government, community supported charity that aims to minimise the effect of cancer on our community through research and education. There are many cancers linked to tobacco smoking and alcohol consumption. The Cancer Council has educational information about the health effects of smoking and alcohol and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The Cancer Council also provides people affected by cancer (whether they are patients, careers, family and friends) with support to enhance their quality of life.

Services
- Cancer Council Helpline - 13 11 20 weekdays 8am to 8pm. Enquiries officers and registered nurses at the Cancer Council Helpline are happy to talk to you about any issue relating to cancer.

Alcoholics Anonymous Australia (AA)
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hops with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no fees. Meetings are held in metro and country locations in each state of Australia. For information on meeting location, date and time see the website. All are welcome to the meetings.

Fresh Start
Fresh Start is a project initiative of The Cancer Council Western Australia. The program aims to provide group counseling support for smokers seeking additional help to quit, as well as training and education to health professionals to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide quit smoking support to smokers they may deal with in the course of their work.

Tobacco Control Branch, Department of Health WA
The Tobacco Control Branch of the Department of Health WA formerly known as Quit WA is responsible for state-wide tobacco control policy development and administration of legislative tobacco control measures. The branch also produces and distributes quit smoking cessation resources including the Quit Book, stickers, brochures and posters.

Services
Quitline
Quitline - 13 7848 (13 QUIT) provides 24 hour, 7 days a week counselling and support to those wanting to quit, recently quit and those wanting to help someone else quit. It also provides access to Quit Kits, publications and a translation service.

An interactive site that provides cessation information, an online cessation program, access to publications and mass media samples.
